Attendance Policy

Why is Sidekick implementing this?

SIDEKICK values the punctuality and attendance of our employees, as regular attendance ensures high quality service for our clients. As such, we have established the following attendance policy to ensure that all employees are aware of our expectations to provide guidelines for managing absences and tardiness. The policy does not apply to authorized absences such as Sick Leave and Vacation Leave.

General Policies

  • Employees are expected to inform their client ahead of time.
  • Regular working hours are the hours set by the client.
  • Tardiness is defined as being more than 5 minutes late to work without prior notification, approval, and/or authorization from the supervisor and client.
  • Absenteeism / No call no show is not reporting to work during the assigned schedule and without providing notification to the client and supervisor.
  • Job Abandonment is failing to come to work for 2 consecutive days or shifts without notifying or indicating their return date or giving notice of resignation.

Disciplinary Action

To prevent poor attendance, employers enforce attendance policies via direct supervision and disciplinary action.

Tardiness:

  • First Instance – Verbal Warning
  • Second Instance – First Written Warning
  • Third Instance – Second Written Warning
  • Fourth Instance – Final Warning
  • Fifth Instance – Termination
